Waterfall in Jammu and Kashmir gets a facelift
Srinagar, June 26 (PTI): With a view to boost tourism in the state, Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to revamp the Ahirbal water fall in Kulgam district under the Prime Minister's Reconstruction Programme.
The beautification of the water body which is being done at the cost of about Rs 20 crore includes upgradation of tourist infrastructure in the nearby area, Agriculture Minister Abdul Aziz Zargar said yesterday.
Zargar, who visited the tourist spot yesterday, said the Ahribal Development Authority has taken up construction of four huts, public lavatories, two parks and local bus stand as part of the facelift programme and already spent Rs 1.5 crore so far.
Work on the Ahribal-Kongwatan Road will commence shortly, he added.
"The ruling coalition government is taking every possible measure to realise the dream of bringing prosperity and equitable and justifiable all-round development of the state through active coordination of people", he said.
